CAN-AM CROWN SLED DOG RACES Three races: 30, 60 and 250 mile distances. 90 teams participating with $40,000 in prize money. One of the biggest races in the East.  May ( all month ) Fiddlehead season comes to Northern Maine A local delicacy, "the truffle of the north Maine woods". Bring your canoe or kayak and join the locals along the riverbeds in the annual "hunt" for this delicious edible fern.  June 2011 Saint John River Race No race 2010 Third annual Saint John River canoe race. A fun 14 mile canoe and kayak race ending in downtown Fort Kent. Enjoy a barbecue in the park after the race. Race categories for all skill levels. Race rules and application forms to be posted here as soon as available.  Check back here for 2011 dates to be announced Madawaska's Acadian Festival 33rd Annual Acadian Festival Maine's largest cultural festival celebrating the traditions of the Saint John Valley's French speaking population.
